Post Occupancy Evaluation studies (POE)

Post Occupancy Evaluation

The POE is a methodology to understand the performance gap between the designed building and its operation. This process integrates a holistic approach analysing collected data from energy consumption and occupant comfort.

POE studies in buildings can detect critical design and functional failures, that could save significant operation and personnel costs (lack of productivity and sick leave).

Post Occupancy Evaluation POE

Post Occupancy Evaluation studies are applicable to all project types and sizes. The POE methodology is recognised by the RIBA 2020 Plan of Work as a fundamental approach to identify the building performance in use and lessons learned for future projects.

POE studies are encouraged by BREEAM (Man 05- Aftercare) and WELL (Mind, 86) for most project types.
